Secret Gardens

Jac will be exhibiting her personal representation of nature and the Earth through mixed media titled ‘Secret Gardens’. Her work is multisensory and offers a focus on wellbeing.

“My work references the impact of the wonderful Sussex coastline and landscapes alongside my interest in rock formations & crystals and fossils found deep within the Earth.

This summer I have spent walking my dogs discovering new places in Sussex and along the way I have amassed several hundred photographs of ‘Secret Gardens’ and wonderful public spaces in and around Worthing. The displays of Flora & Fauna have been exceptional this year and a delight to shoot. My Micro 3 inch wooden ‘Photo Boxes’ of local flowers and meadows taken whilst out on my walkabouts are fragranced with Aromatherapy Oils giving an illusionary quality of real flowers that are scented and have the benefit of being as therapeutic as a coffee table or wall art piece that makes an affordable artwork or lovely gift. I work on canvas boxes and wood, large and small with a preference for highly pigmented acrylics, building up layers of paint using thickening matt & gel gloss mediums with palette knives to build texture and movement.

I sometimes work poetry somewhere hidden in the painting. I love the Alchemy of colour and vibrancy which I bring to my work as a process to wellbeing. ‘Out of the Earth Art’ has embedded in the works crystals with the intention of imbibing the Artworks with holistic benefits. I welcome commissions and I also offer Personal Pet Commemorative Artworks incorporating ashes seen in my tribute on display to my own much loved dog Larka.”
