This August, Alphabetown is coming to Worthing! A town within a town. This interactive exhibition is an ongoing project by illustrator Sarah Edmonds.

The main gallery of Colonnade House will be transformed into an Information Centre, where you can explore the hand drawn sights and highlights of Sarah’s invented town. She has used the Alphabet as her starting point, but this place is still under construction and open to suggestions.

You are invited to become an architect as well as a tourist and add your own locations to the map. What places or spaces would you build if you could invent (or improve) a town? There will be building blocks to play with, a big map to doodle on, a town notice board and postcards to send. Let your imagination run riot – in Alphabetown, all planning applications are approved!

Following the exhibition Sarah will be developing an app to build on the work created for, and within, this exhibition.
