Michael Harbour: High Tides

Brendan’s creative journey began when he discovered origami as a teenager in the 1980s. From simple beginnings folding cranes and flapping birds, he now designs and diagrams his own origami models. Brendan sits on the council of the British Origami Society and is a regular exhibitor and teacher at their conventions, local groups and other events.

Inspired by an art fair three years ago, he began creating three dimensional artworks that are influenced by, but not constrained by the limitations of pure origami. He enjoys experimenting with new materials, such as home-made paper, up-cycled packaging and metal, and favours abstract forms, minimalism and simplicity in all his work.

This is Brendan’s first solo exhibition and he will be present as often as possible, likely filling the gallery up with tiny origami dragons which seem to appear wherever he goes.

Originally from South London, Brendan and his wife have lived in West Worthing since 2023.
