McConnell (BA) Hons Fine Art) is an autistic artist.

In order to create the work for this exhibition, she has been collecting the shapes and colours from nature for over a year. The predominant shape in these paintings are based on the Horse Chestnut Tree leaf.

Using  a tiny paintbrush, her oil colours are then mixed as close to the colours in her little black book as possible.

So far:

Holly and Ivy, Tamarisk leaf and flower, Lily, Agapanthus, Crocus, Daffodil, Lime tree, Berry, Lavender, peach (please see the back of each artwork).

The artists that have inspired her:

Frida Kahlo, Henri Rousseau, Georgia O’Keefe.
