Gallery 1: Adventures in Invisible Light:
Studying photography at Nottingham Trent University where he specialised in pinhole photography was where Ed Watts developed an interest in alternative process – any non-traditional photographic printing process.
It was during this time period where he also worked for several national magazines photographing the great and good of the club scene, leading into a career in celebrity photography. It was from working in his spare time where Ed continued experimenting with alternative processes, shifting from pinhole to infrared where his creative journey became inspired by the other-worldly beauty of its landscape photography.
In recent times during lockdown, Ed rediscovered his love for the Cyanotype process of photography and the images in the exhibition feature many of the objects discovered on one of his many long ‘stomps’ across the beautiful South Downs.
