Jo Jones: Sea, Sun, Salt & Sparkle
Jo Jones

Jo Jones will be exhibiting two shows with us for her two week exhibition in May. For the first week, you can catch ‘Sea, Sun, Salt & Sparkle’ in the gallery until Sunday. For the second week you can catch ‘Seasons’, “a painterly nod to what a wonderful world this is.”

Sea, Sun, Salt & Sparkle

Planet Earth is a huge success story, and of all the precious gifts it has to share with us, Water is key.

There is nowhere in or on Planet Earth where Water is not.  Although unseen, still beneath its mantle, Water is.  Water is never unconnected.  Nowhere is there a space where Water is not.  Not even in the place we call outer space.  Like all good things, water comes to us from the Stars. “Water, Plasma, is our way forward I do believe.”

“It would serve us very well to be more mindful of water, and to take great care of our seas.  The  sun’s rays fall upon the salt content, creating a sparkle of electrical current.  Together with the tidal push/pull at each shoreline, creating electro-magnetic action.  Liquid living consciousness.  This is where life on Earth began.  At the edge of the ocean.”

Sea, Sun, Salt & Sparkle, is a painterly homage to that magical great creative force.

“I could never do it full justice, but I feel it a privilege as a local painter, to be living close to Water and able to feel its inspiration.”

“Planet Earth is incredibly abundant, giving freely and generously of all her bounty.  It would be a huge folly to disrespect her.  It would be biting the hand that feeds us.  My passion for her and for painting leads me to want to capture some of that bounty and beauty on paper and canvas.  I can’t hope to match it, but I can try!!”

“I love the roll of the year and the promise of Spring after the resting and regenerating Winter, the colourful cacophony of Summer, and the untidy fruitful Autumn.  Food for both body and soul. As the People of this planet, we are so very blessed.”

“I want to live in a world where we protect our beautiful planet, our great home in the cosmos.  Let us learn to give thanks for all we receive from her, and keep our grateful thoughts on that abundance. Without it, we are lost.”

Seasons is a painterly nod to what a wonderful world this is.
