The Cellar Arts Club are delighted to be working with Colonnade House to present a selection of films for Films on the Gallery Wall 2019. The programme will consist of two screenings. The first will be a selection of short films made by local filmmakers, including themes of comedy, mystery, unrequited love and sci-fi. These will also be interspersed with four very short audio/visual poems. In the evening there will be a screening of Jodorowsky’s Dune (2013). Directed by Frank Pavich, this documentary follows Alejandro Jodorowsky as he attempts to transfer Frank Herbert’s popular book, Dune, to the large screen. The Cellar Arts Club have selected this fascinating documentary as it conveys the impossibility of dreams that a film director may have and juxtaposes this against the harsh reality of filmmaking.

The Cellar Arts Club is run almost exclusively by volunteers, all of whom have a passionate interest in the arts. It is a non-profit, arts-based members club and bar, which hosts art exhibitions, original live music, theatre, poetry, DJ nights and much more. Membership is £20 a year and guests are welcome for a small entry fee for most events, find out more here.
