Lucy Rowan: Visible Mending Workshop // Friday 24 January 2025 // 18.00 – 20.00 // £15.00

Breathe new life into your well-loved garments through the art of visible mending!

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn creative techniques to repair holes, rips, and worn-out spots while turning them into eye-catching, unique design features. Whether you’re working on jeans, sweaters, or any piece of clothing, visible mending offers a sustainable way to extend the life of your wardrobe while adding a personal, artistic touch.

During the workshop, you will:
– Learn basic and decorative stitching techniques
– Explore darning, patchwork, and embroidery methods
– Experiment with color, texture, and pattern to make repairs a feature, not a flaw

No prior sewing experience is required—this workshop is perfect for beginners and experienced menders alike. Bring along your favorite damaged clothes, and by the end, you’ll walk away with a beautifully mended piece and the skills to continue your mending journey at home.

Materials provided: All necessary tools and supplies will be available, but feel free to bring any fabric scraps or embellishments you’d like to incorporate into your repair.

Join us for an inspiring, eco-friendly workshop and transform your torn clothing into wearable art!

The workshop will take place at Colonnade House and all ticket sales proceeds are going to the Adur & Worthing Trust.

You can book onto the workshop here.

This event is part of our Wonderful Workshops programme. Find out more here.
