Zach Walker is an international audio video artist and the Co-Artistic Director of makeAMPLIFY. makeAMPLIFY create site specific installations and interactive live performances that engage, challenge and inspire.
He was commissioned in 2015 to create the Visualizing Vibrations Sculpture (VVS) by Guerrilla Science and the Mathematics Science Research Institute. The interactive audio video sculpture was created to engage people in the Maths and Sciences through the arts. The VVS illustrates the principal of cymatics. Cymatics is the science of sound vibration which makes audio visible through vibrating a diaphragm or membrane covered with liquid or small particles.
The VVS has engaged over 100,000 people in the last five years at performances, festivals, events, workshops and online and will be exhibited at Colonnade House – Creative Hub from the 31st of April to 6th of May. There will be opportunities to interact with the VVS over the week using your voice, music production hardware and your own music at points on Tuesday the 1st & Friday the 4th from 15:30 – 17:30pm if you would like to have a play.
