Superstar Arts Podcast

The Mark You Make group of local artists came together nearly a year ago to develop a continuing consideration of the mark- making process in their work, to share experiences, influencers and their own practise – they have been meeting regularly, strolling on the shore, sharing their creative interests, chatting online posting what’s caught their eye and generally enjoying a supportive space to be artists.

For two weeks in February they are bringing their art to Colonnade House, setting up their Pop Up Artist Studio in the gallery.  In answer to the question “What do artists do all day?” here’s your chance to find out!

During their residency the group will be treating the gallery as a working studio, developing their individual projects, learning new skills from each other working on shared art explorations and generally making art!

Call in for a look, a wander and a sit down.  There will be finished artwork on the walls for sale, there will be tables and easels set up for working, sketch books to browse, art books to explore, materials and tools to learn more about and of course the Mark You Make artists ready for a chat.

The group have greatly benefited from a Creative Commission from Adur and Worthing Trust, and the encouragement, advice and help from the expert team at Colonnade House – we’d like to pay it back by showing how the local creative community appreciate this support and nurturing of new ideas and projects that value art and artists.

This is going to be an exciting couple of weeks; the group will be hanging artwork as it’s created during their stay, so look out for an ever changing window of ideas, with some for sale too.

Follow their Instagram page for updates of events happening during the two weeks!
