In August Artist and Illustrator Michelle Dawson will be back at Colonnade House with her inky seaside drawings.
Recently she has been keen to develop her drawing style by experimenting with different ways of applying ink. Using sticks, brushes and her trusty dip-pen Michelle has been creating loose interpretations of interesting views around the area, often working on location. She enjoys the different quality of line which each tool provides and the often messy results.
Michelle adds colour to her drawings using Graphics software and, inspired by traditional printmaking techniques, is increasingly favouring a limited palette.  Her illustrations are printed onto thick textured archival paper to create beautiful limited edition prints.
These new prints will be available to buy at the exhibition alongside her existing popular seaside series of prints. There will also be a large range of her greetings cards for sale.
Michelle will be at Colonnade House 11am – 4pm each day of the exhibition working on a large ink drawing which you will be able to see develop during the week.
