Owen Davey’s Pop-Up Shop
Join the award-winning local illustrator and author, Owen Davey, for one week of art prints, picture books, gifts and more. Owen is well known for his geometric animal illustrations and bold colour palettes. His books have been published in over 25 languages globally and range from pop-up books and stories for little’uns to his acclaimed ‘About Animals’ non-fiction series, including Smart About Sharks, Fanatical About Frogs and Passionate About Penguins.
Brand new illustrations and products will be available to buy, plus a whole host of older work to adorn your walls, shelves, bodies or Christmas stockings. Owen will take over the wonderful space at Colonnade House and transform it into a little world of illustration joy.
Don’t forget to sign up for a reasonably-priced (£2) drawing workshop on Sunday 10 December (paper and pencils provided) to learn how Owen uses shapes to draw animals. This is open to all, but tends to be best for ages 6 and up. Afterwards, there will be a chance to buy some books and get them signed.

Fame & Fable
In Gallery 2, Owen will be showcasing his passion project from the last few years, a delightfully nerdy fantasy-inspired card game named Fame & Fable.
Fame & Fable is for 2-4 players and is designed thematically, with fun character traits, brutal monster attacks and mini-narratives all embedded into the 150+ card game. It was born out of a love for Dungeons and Dragons and a desire to draw the stuff that inspired Owen as a kid; swords, magic and gruesome beasts.
Explore some of the artwork, learn all about the game ahead of its Kickstarter Launch next year and maybe even play it with some friends (space and availability permitting).
