Sarah is known for her bird art in the form of funny pun charts, merchandise and children’s books. Her playful designs featuring Tits, Boobies, Peckers and many more cheeky species are popular the world over with nature and fun-loving folk.
High up in her top floor studio at Colonnade House – a bird’s eye view in itself – she’s recently been experimenting with collage, book art and home-made, natural inks to create a flock of bird art in a vibrant mixed media style. This is Sarah’s first solo show for a while and will be an opportunity to see her new work alongside illustrations from the archive. Expect alphabets, curiosities and all kinds of birds – big,small, real and dreamlike.
Prints, cards and original pieces will be on sale along with a selection of her children’s titles. This exhibition is also a preview of Sarah’s forthcoming book ‘Chickens and Other Dinosaurs: The Unbelievable Story of Bird Evolution;’ which publishes with Hachette in April.
Sarah will be perched in the gallery throughout the show – come and say hello! You’ll probably find her doodling passing seagulls and other birds from her imagination.
