As part of an ongoing series that aims to help you develop your creative business, each year Colonnade House hosts several Professional Development Weeks that encompass a variety of events designed to share and build skills. This October, Colonnade House is hosting a range of informative and engaging sessions trying out digital tech such as laser cutters and 3D printers.
All events are free of charge but booking is necessary.

Tuesday 19 – Saturday 23 October, 10.00 – 12.00 & 14.00 – 16.00 daily
Book a two-hour session on our amazing Glowforge laser cutter! We can take you through the basics, or bring your own project ready to go.
Find out how to cut and engrave designs into a range of materials using our Glowforge laser cutter. You may already have a project ready to go, or you may want a tour of the basics to get an idea of what is possible, but in either case book a two hour session and we will assist you to use the machine and show you what it can do.
We will provide some basic materials for people who are new to Glowforge to use as test pieces but if you have a specific project you will need to provide your own materials. If so, please ensure that they are compatible with a Glowforge Basic machine.
3D Printing Sessions
Tuesday 19 – Saturday 23 October, 10.00 – 12.00 & 14.00 – 16.00 daily
Book a 3D Printing session – whether it’s your first time ever, or you have a project ready to print, we will guide you through.
Get started with 3D printing with help from staff at Colonnade House. Last year our Creality Ender machine was used to print multi-part models, cookie cutters and miniature buildings amongst other things as part of the Space to Make project. You can import a design of your own, or build a model from scratch in the 3D Creality software.
