For the first week of December Colonnade House will be transformed into a version of Tom Boulton’s letterpress workshop.
Tom Boulton, aka TYPETOM.COM, trained as a typographic designer and is now a self-taught letterpress printer. With over ten years’ experience Tom has been commissioned by the likes of Tate Modern, Fortnum and Mason, Southbank Centre and The Design Museum. He has been included in the London Design Festival twice and has been featured in publications such as Creative Review, The Telegraph and Country Living.
This exhibition will be the first appearance for Tom at Colonnade House. A large number of Tom’s typographic experimental prints will be on display, as well as lots of unusual and affordable handmade and hand-printed stationery goods such as hand-stitched notebooks, greeting cards and notelet sets – perfect for that special person just in time for Christmas.
Alongside this there will be several printing presses (dating back to 1900s) on display and running. Tom will be on hand each day to talk you through the letterpress process and show you some of the collection he has amassed over the years.
There will be a number of ‘Have a Go Get Printing’ one hour workshops running across the week. Check out Tom’s website and social media or send him an email for more information.
