Eleonora and Jan’s friendship began when they both held solo exhibitions at Colonnade House in July 2022. Both artists have loved painting and drawing since childhood.
Jan studied at West Sussex School of Art, Union Place, Worthing (Foundation course), and Camberwell School of Art (BA Hons. Printed & Woven Textiles).
Eleonora, a self-taught mixed media artist of Ukrainian origin, enjoys experimenting with new techniques and materials. Acrylics and collage are her favourites. Her art explores the essence of womanhood, beauty, and spiritual journeys and has been exhibited in the UK and abroad.
Jan primarily works in acrylic or oils from her studio in Ferring but experiments with watercolour pencils and gouache when in busy art groups. Her art is inspired by past and present experiences, often sparked by moments that capture her imagination. She works from her own photographs, developing them into paintings. Her recent pieces have included aspects of Worthing’s charming yet weathered facades, old posters, off-season seaside architecture and things seen in windows. Local landscapes also feature prominently in her art.
Before moving to West Sussex in 2015, Jan exhibited successfully in various South London galleries. Notably, six of her paintings were shortlisted for the RA Summer Exhibition.
Both artists are members of the West Sussex Art Society, where they continue to share their passion for art.
