Local creatives are hosting a week of wonderful workshops & events to help with fundraising, with 50% of ticket sales going towards the Adur & Worthing Trust.
The fundraising will help the Trust maintain the current operation of Colonnade House.

Nadia Chalk: Portrait Illustration Workshop
Monday 16 March // 18.00 – 20.00 // £20.00
Nadia Chalk (Co-founder of Creative Waves) specialises in realistic portraiture.
The 2 hour session will highlight top tips to help you draw.
– ‘Learning to look’ and mapping out an image.
– Transferable skills that apply to all subject matters.
Please bring a printed photo of a face that you want to draw, or choose one from Nadia’s file of faces.
This session is suitable for participants aged 16+.

Sara Cook: Cherry Blossom Project Workshop
Tuesday 17 March // 10.00 – 13.00 // £20.00
Sara invites you to participate in a creative opportunity to make a cherry blossom mobile for an installation celebrating the arrival of spring. Participants will learn the technique of making Korean Mandus (dumplings) and assemble them into a mobile using naturally dyed Korean silk organza. Each Mandu may contain a personal message or wish.
Upon completion of the Cherry Blossom Project, you will be able to retrieve your blossom to continue to enjoy it at home.
All required fabrics will be provided. The activity is suitable fo beginners and involves easy hand stitching only.

How to Understand ‘Sussex’ in the 21st Century
Wednesday 18 March // 18.00 – 20.00 // £10.00 – £20.00
Join an informal and interactive conversation – maybe even a new game(!) – hosted by Sussex And The City podcast host, Richard Freeman and other leaders from the Sussex Futures Network. An accessible and fun deep-dive into culture, identity, community, power and place and what it means for the whole of Sussex over the coming decades.
The event will take place at Colonnade House and all ticket sales proceeds are going to the Adur & Worthing Trust.

Thursday 19 March // 10.00 – 13.00 // £10
Jane, Karen & Virginia will be creating a woodland scene and wreath, so come along and make some simple flowers and maybe some butterflies, bees and bugs if you have some previous crochet experience.
Hooks, yarns and other materials will be supplied.
All ticket sales from this workshop will be donated to the Adur & Worthing Trust.

Femigami: Mindful paper-folding for the Spring Equinox

A chance to get away from the screen for the evening, connect with others, or simply, quietly enjoy the meditative, ancient art of paper-folding.

Michele Payne: Abstract Art on Paper
Friday 20 March // 10.00 – 13.00 // £15.00
Join Michele to experiment and explore your personal response to colour, mark-making, shape and line.
You’ll create your own expressive, abstract piece of art using acrylic paint, as well as pen and pencil on paper.
Throughout the workshop, Michele will share her favourite techniques and give an insight into her approach to abstract art-making.
No previous drawing skills are needed, just come with an open mind and be willing to pick up a brush to see what happens. Please wear clothes that you won’t mind getting paint on.

Femigami: Easter Origami for families

Join Femigami for screen-free time together, folding and decorating Easter themed origami.
A parent/guardian will need to be present with any children throughout the workshop, and everyone requires a ticket. All materials provided, fully supportive session, with no experience needed.

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn creative techniques to repair holes, rips, and worn-out spots while turning them into eye-catching, unique design features.

– Explore darning, patchwork, and embroidery methods
– Experiment with color, texture, and pattern to make repairs a feature, not a flaw
