This month sees exhibitions of artists inspired by the local landscape bringing together painting, illustration, ceramics, embroidery and more for an eclectic mix of artworks.

We also see the return of Worthing Festival with a two day event at Homefield Park and a whole month of Fringe events taking place across Worthing. During the Fringe you can find us celebrating all things fashion and textiles for a group exhibition of local artists in Fringe & Fibres.

Clare Buckle: Wired for Colour
03 – 08 June // 10.00 – 17.00

Drawn to monolithic structures and industrial buildings, Clare Buckle brings vibrancy and colour to mysterious buildings in ordinary places. Her use of colour triggered by her synesthesia brings together mood and atmosphere in a showcase of painting and printmaking. 

CTRL + ALT + CREATE
03 – 08 June // 10.00 – 17.00

Breaking conventions and artistic boundaries, Alan Riley, Luna Rose and Hannah Porter will be showcasing graffiti inspired pieces with handcrafted three-dimensional artworks and bold illustrations.

Exploring memory, identity and imagination, each artist brings a unique style and perspective to their practice. 

Anna Louise Wise: Spirit of the Sea
10 – 14 June // 10.00 – 17.00

Anna Louise Wise captures elements of the sea where vibrant blues meet hues of turquoise and green and crashing waves greet the shore. Spirit of the Sea encompasses the changing elements of the sea from Littlehampton to Worthing, inspired by its ever changing colours and light.

John Stenning: Town & Country Landscapes
10 – 14 June // 10.00 – 17.00

From local to exotic, John Stenning creates realistic paintings inspired by his travels, capturing unique locations of the city, the countryside and locations further afield. 

Fringe & Fibres
17 – 21 June// 10.00 – 17.00

Fringe & Fibres brings together the works of local fashion designers, stitchers, weavers and mixed media textile artists for an exciting group show that celebrates fibre based work.

Across the week, there will also be the option to take part in a series of workshops from Lino Printing onto Fabric with Suzy Riot, Stitch it, Don’t Ditch it with CREW and a crocheting workshop to be announced soon.

5 Ways to See
24 – 29 June// 10.00 – 17.00

5 Ways to See offers an eclectic mix of ceramics, painting, and embroidery for a group show of five Sussex based artists.

Maggie Tredwell, Wendy Palmer, Julie Batty, Jane Dahill and Julia Brown all create work inspired by the landscape, using their chosen medium to expresses how they see the world around them.

Artists are invited to propse works that reflect Hastings’ coastal character and sense of place for a commissioned piece of artwork that should play a meaningful role in the regeneration of Hastings Town Centre. Find out more and apply here.

CIL Neighbourhood Fund // Expressions of interest open now // Free to apply

Community groups and organisations are being invited to find out if their projects are eligible for funding ahead of the opening of the Worthing Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) Neighbourhood Fund. Groups will also be able to find out more about this years fund at in-person community events in June & July.
