If you would like to apply to our Open Call but would like some clarity on what’s taking place, we’ve put together some FAQs that we hope will clear a few things up.
We are incredibly grateful for the amount of support we have received so far and look forward to seeing the gallery walls filled with as many pieces of art as possible!
Who is the fundraiser for?
The fundraiser is for Adur & Worthing Trust who need to quickly raise funds to continue with Colonnade House Gallery & Studios. The donation through the form of a submission fee and an original artwork or the donation of a print for our Micro Print Fair with both sale proceeds going towards the Trust, allows them time to continue.
Please note: All fundraising activities during this period are organised by The Adur & Worthing Trust & with Worthing Borough Council fully sighted and aware. If not enough funds are raised through various efforts, then The Adur & Worthing Trust will invest the money back into cultural projects in the local area as they have done for many years with The Creative Commissions.
What’s the difference between Our Creative Community & the Micro Print Fair?
Our Creative Community requires a submission fee of £5.00 or £10.00. With this, you will collect a 12”x12” piece of paper from us, or supply your own if you have any in the same size at home. You can then create a piece of original artwork to be returned to us by the deadline that will make its way to the gallery walls.
The Micro Print Fair has no submission fee but instead asks for donations of prints that you would be willing to give away. This is for those who have prints at home they would be happy to donate. All prints donated will be for sale with 100% of proceeds from sales going towards supporting the Adur & Worthing Trust.
Will I make any money from sales?
Artists submitting to the open call will not make any money from the sales. Over the last eight years Colonnade House as a project has supported numerous artists and businesses and to help see us continue this work, we are now calling on artists for support. Instead, this open call is a fundraiser, with the donation of a submission entry and an artwork or the donation of a print will go towards supporting the Adur & Worthing Trust.
Do I need to pay a submission fee for the Micro Print Fair?
No. There is no submission fee for the Micro Print Fair. Instead, we are asking those who are in the position to do so, to donate a print to be sold in our Micro Print Fair. All prints will be sold to raise funds for the Adur & Worthing Trust to allow them to continue their work in managing Colonnade House.
How much will the work be sold for?
Work for sale in the open call for Our Creative Community will be sold for £30.00.
Donated prints will be sold depending on size, with prices ranging from £5.00 – £20.00.
What happens if my work is not sold?
At the end of the exhibition, we will let artists know if their work was not sold. Any unsold artworks will need to be collected from Colonnade House.
Where do I drop off the work?
All work will either need to be dropped off at Colonnade House, 47 Warwick Street or delivered by post by Saturday 22nd March, by 17.00 at the latest.
Is there a way I can get involved if I don’t want to submit a print or create an artwork?
We understand that the open call is a big ask for artists, and if none of these options work for you, we hope that you can support us by donating to the Adur & Worthing Trust’s fundraising page which you can find here. You can also help us spread the word with people who you think would like to take part as well as filling out our Consultation survey which we have extended until 28 February. We would love it if you could fill this out if you haven’t done so already and share with those who you think would like to give feedback.
