Liz English Exhibition 2022

Peon Boyle works across printmaking, drawing and installation, often using the close  observation of nature and everyday life to explore themes of materiality, embodiment  and state of being. Boyle approaches work with sustained, sensitive attention, that  imbues it with an ethereal transience and beauty. Her preferences of using natural  materials are rooted in her concern for finding sustainable ways of making, which has  informed her passion of papermaking, repurposing materials and use of textile processes with printmaking techniques.

Boyle has been on a journey in finding purpose and meaning for a few years. She  recently graduated with her Masters degree from West Dean college of Art. This exhibition reflects on how she views the world and her approaches with materials. Her interest in looking for meaning in everyday life and mundane moments sparked the slow process of making as a result of her finding herself. She uses paper textile, printmaking and  debris to piece together fragments to make it whole, this slow way of making has a  place for healing and purpose. Finding MEaning is Boyle’s second solo exhibition and is a celebration of everyday ordinary material that can also be unique and beautiful.
