Stephen Page: Reconnection

Writer Stephen Page is creating new opportunities for Adur & Worthing based writers & poets to connect. With support from Creatives Across Sussex, Stephen will work with voice actors, sound recordists & composers to convert his body of work into audio files with planned presentations at local literary festivals & recorded ‘talking books’

About

Stephen moved to Worthing in 2006 to be closer to a support network following onset of severe multiple sclerosis. Unable to continue in full-time employment, on arrival in Worthing, he refocused on freelance work as a writer.

The essence of the project is to convert Stephen’s body of work into audio files, working with a voice actor and sound engineer, beginning with an initial volume to prove the concept and to use the process to connect with local writers networks, including identifying people who might share the same lived experience.

He will also commission a new piece of music as a companion to the one that was recorded before the pandemic, using both to frame a live, in-person 30-minute presentation of the work at local literary events.
