Glenn Phur: Signature Art, Icons, Landscapes – Art for your Heart

After a successful show in 2022, Worthing based artist Glenn Phur is back at in Gallery One at Colonnade House. Glenn has been painting for over 40 years & covers a wide range of subject matter. He will be exhibiting a new range of ‘Icons’ featuring well known celebrities such as; David Bowie, Amy Winehouse & Marilyn Monroe.

With portraiture being his speciality, Glenn also takes commissions. So pop in & have a chat about getting yourself or loved ones immortalised in oil.

Pauline Murray: Zinnia

Witness printmaker Pauline Murray’s delicate collection of collages in epic scale. Pauline’s beautiful layered designs are influenced by her love of nature. Each piece is unique as a real zinnia, bringing explosions of colour & decoration to Gallery Two.

Worthing Film Club: Worthing Cinema: Past, Present & Future

After receiving funding from the Adur & Worthing Trust Creative Commissions 2023 small grants scheme, Worthing Film Club is collaborating with ScreenWoLFF to celebrate the past, present & future of Worthing Cinema. Visit the Connaught & Colonnade House for an interactive exhibition featuring local filmmakers & be part of this project.

There will also be an opportunity for YOU to share your stories and be a part of this fascinating Worthing archive.

The Club are also screening two classic films with a ‘Worthing Twist’ on the 12 & 14 June in the Connaught Studio.

Life Drawing, The Surrealists & Other Strange Phenomena

A large-scale life drawing event is coming to Worthing for the very first time. During Worthing Festival, artist & event organiser, Wendy Barratt is hosting an exciting life drawing event at The Venue, Worthing, accessible for both seasoned & budding artists.

Expect a Surrealist-themed life drawing extravaganza. Set in the amazing space, The Venue, life models will be creating poses to inspire, amaze and get your pencils moving.

Storytime with author and illustrator John Bond

Worthing Library // 17 June // 11.00 – 11.30 // Free

Colonnade House studio member, John Bond will be reading aloud from his latest book Much Too Busy, published by HarperCollins, as part of Saturday Storytime at Worthing Library. The event is free, but spaces are limited.

This will be followed with a step-by-step draw-a-long of one of the characters!

Stroll along Worthing’s historic promenade at any time, day or night, and you will encounter a new exhibition at the West Buildings Shelter entitled ‘The Stations’

The exhibition, featuring photography by artist and campaigner Marksteen Adamson, is a unique project tracing the journey of refugees, provoking reflection and calling for a response from those more fortunate.

The Summer edition of Worthing Artists Open Houses is back! Grab your sunglasses & pick up a map from Colonnade House and head on a creative journey around Worthing. With 41 venues & 100s of artists to meet.
