The festive season is here! Look local this year to find original and creative ways to celebrate. Why not start at Colonnade House?

John Evans & Janet Branscombe: Collaborations
Exhibition // til 12 Dember // 10.00 – 17.00 daily (Closed Monday)

The back and forth of ideas continues to evolve between artist Janet Branscombe and ceramicist John Evans, and in this exhibition their latest work brings painterly qualities to the form and surfaces of ceramic pieces. Naked clay is a term for surface decoration achieved without glaze – John burnishes, smoke fires and polishes to achieve an almost marble or soapstone quality. Janet takes these techniques and brings to them her understanding of the human body, movement and colour to create unique sculptural pieces.

Slavka Jovanavic: Angels All Around
Exhibition // til 9 January 2022 // HISBE Supermarket, Portland Road, Worthing

Artist Slavka Jovanovic puts carers in the centre of the picture with this project which launched on Carers Rights Day. These unsung heroes who care for people day to day are enshrined in images reminiscent of Eastern Orthodox icons. The project gave carers a chance to take some time out for themselves in a creative workshop and was one of the projects funded by Creative Commissions.
