Monday 21 January // Planning your exhibition – SESSION 1: Writing ‘blurb’ and choosing images to publicise your show // 18.00 – 20.00 //FREE

Planning your exhibition

Are you having an exhibition at Colonnade House this year? This is the first of two sessions led by Colonnade House staff to help you get the most out of your exhibition. In our Hirers Guide we ask you to send ‘blurb’ to publicise your show, but it can be hard to write about yourself and your work. In this session we will focus on ways to write about yourself and your work, and how this can be used along with images to publicise your show. What to bring: at least 1 image of your work – a physical copy (if not too difficult to carry), pictures on your phone, tablet or laptop, photographs or print-outs

Places are limited – BOOK HERE

WHAT IF…?     These monthly nights are informal, inclusive explorations of key issues in business, culture, community and education. There will be 3 guest speakers + chat, debate, drinks and introductions.

You don’t have to be a well-connected extrovert – just curious about what is possible. If you have a project that needs help, or an idea that needs collaborators – bring it along, and we’ll make sure you have a chance to talk about it.

The work isn’t over once the show is up though, and nor is it over when it’s over. We’re going to go through some ideas about the before-during-and-after of your exhibition – including tips on framing from Ed Watts and using Instagram to get people excited about your work.
