Glenn Phur: Art for the Heart - Art for the Home

Artist and Colonnade House studio member Glenn Phur is exhibiting this Summer, bringing a range of portraiture paintings designed to fit perfectly in your home.

“I find an idea, feeling, story or image and create a collection of paintings based around the start point. Each collection has its own style and energy, so there is always something new coming from the easel. I work in oil or acrylic and have been a professional artist for the last 40 years, so a lot of ideas and a lot of work.”

He has been interested in art since school, having studied at the now closed West Sussex College of Art and Design in Worthing, moving on to Illustration and Fine Art which he has continued on with to the present date.

Glenn is also launching his latest collection of paintings titled ‘Little Red Boat’ in the studio gallery, featuring playful characters and illustrative storytelling – a new style of working for Glenn. Rather than having a single source of inspiration, Glenn comes up with small ideas that he expands on in a much greater scale through his work, where over 60 sketches of this Little Red Boat will inform the dozen portraiture paintings that will be unveiled for the very first time at Colonnade House.

“My specialty is portraiture and there are examples of my portraits in the show. I am open for commissions, if you wish to talk to me about a commission, please approach me at the show or online at glennphur@yahoo.co.uk. Come and take a look! Thanks, Glenn.”
