After a successful week back in February with Sara Cook’s work in progress exhibition, she is back in the gallery for one week, showcasing her recent experiments with natural dyes.
Come and explore Sara’s new collection of botanical drawings in stitch alongside her larger abstract work all inspired by the changing light on the landscape.

Marina Burgess is sharing her highly detailed paintings of everyday scenes of the local area painted from her own photographs. Through the slow process of painting, Marina considers our relationship to our everday surroundings, exploring themes of presence and belonging.

Join Drumheads as they kick off Worthing Festival in style! Combining local gospel choir, Spring into Soul, two local dance troupes & Drumheads Samba, get ready to make some noise!
Starting on the seafront outside the Pavilion Theatre, you can come along and enjoy the ride.

Home/Land: Worthing Festival & Refugee Week Exhibition
11 – 23 June // Colonnade House // 10.00 – 17.00 daily
Home/land will delve into the multifaceted themes of home, refugees, migration, displacement and diasporic sensibilities. After a call art for local artists, over twenty Sussex based artists and beyond were selected to share their work covering paintings, photography, video, sculpture and more.
Alongside the exhibition will be a rich programme of talks and workshops that are free and open to all. Capacity is limited so booking is essential.

Take part in an immersive trail across four venues in Worthing that will be showcasing local dance and music performances. Featuring Harpists, Violinists, Belly & Salsa Dancer and DJ’s, this is the perfect opportunity to explore the creativity of Worthing for this year’s festival.

Plastic Era: ‘Optograms of the Earth’
West Buildings Shelter // Open until August 2023 // Free
Plastic Era is an ongoing research project exploring the relationship between humans, non-compostable rubbish and the sea. Ainoa’s current exhibition ‘Optograms of the Sea‘, shows a collection of cyanotypes produced with waste from coastal areas around Worthing and Adur that were collected from community focused litter picking sessions.
You can see the exhibition at West Buildings Shelter on Worthing Seafront throughout the Summer until August 2024.

Hannah Forward: Exhibition of new paintings and prints

Hannah Forward is a Brighton based artist using vivid colours and bold shapes to create detailed, textured prints which have a sense of movement and strong graphic quality. Hannah will be presenting a collection of new paintings and prints throughout this year’s Worthing Festival at First & Last.
First & Last is a lifestyle shop in Worthing that features art and design from artists and makers from Sussex and beyond.
