June sees Creativity taking place all over Worthing as we celebrate the return of Worthing Festival and the Festival Fringe. At Colonnade House we have exhibitions by photographers, community groups, textile artists, and refugees and displaced people to celebrate Refugee Week. Carrying on into the first month of June, we have videoclub showcasing a collection of short films by LGBTQIA+ artists from the UK and around the world.
This screening offers an intimate single-screen viewing of the films, spanning animation, documentary, experimental film and poetic fiction that offers a rich, multifaceted reflection on contemporary queer life.
Basia Asztabska: The Space Between

Basia’s work combines bold colours and geometric forms with vast open landscapes offering reflections on the relationship between nature, geometry and space.
Superstar Arts: Spaces & Places

The Superstar Artists have been busy exploring their favourite places from home, to local landmarks and imaginary worlds. Expect a collection of paintings, sculptures and collage for their latest exhibition.
Tender Structures: Stem and Stitch

Bev Crowter works directly with plant specimens, observing their delicate leaves, heads and petals. What emerges is a collection of work that sits between drawing and object.
Refugee Week: The Art of Courage

To celebrate Refugee Week, Worthing 4 Refugees are bringing together art and craft created by refugees and displaced people alongside a selection of local artists in solidarity with them.
The exhibition will be a space to honour resilience, share stories and build resilience.

Exhibiting together for the first time, Northbrook graduate of BA (Hons) Textile Design Jane Rivers, and Northbrook Textile Design students Michelle Wilcock and Susan Reid will be showcasing their creative practices.

Carole Waller: ‘Portal’ Paintings and Prints on Paper & Cloth

Using cotton and linen as her canvas, Carole Waller is known for her work in textiles. Her most recent work includes a collection of printed shawls both for the wall and for the body. Carole’s work has developed from the question of where and how and artwork defines its beginning and end.
