We’re kicking off September with our Professional Development Week. With a variety of events ranging from networking, talks and creative workshops there’s plenty to get involved with.

Join in with talks from Arts Council England as they talk through how to apply to their National Lottery Project Grants. Shake It Up Creative will be hosting a day of talks and workshops. Get creative with Hello DODO as they host screenpritning and badge making workshops.

Michael Lainchbury: From the Earth
05 – 10 September 2023 // 10.00 – 17.00 // Free

Michael Lainchbury first solo exhibition ‘From the Earth’ explores the relationship between fire clay and smoke. Together with his fascination with the alchemy of fire and its unpredictable nature, Lainchbury marks his expression of the clay surface with intricate patterns and subtle colour.

Gigglewick Attitude
12 – 17 September 2023  // 10.00 – 17.00 // Free

Immerse yourself in a colour filled world as Gigglewick Gallery make their way to Colonnade House. Showcasing an enchanting collection of art by talented artists, you can see work from Sue Mullholland, Mark Munroe-Preston, Michael Cole, Natalia Samarina and Tricia Findlay.

Highdown Grows
19 – 24 September 2023 // 10.00 – 17.00 // Free

Celebrate a season of creative activities exploring art and nature with the Highdown Gardens team. Be prepared to be transported into a world of botanical beauty, and an explosion of colours in their exhibition ‘Highdown Grows’.

The exhibition will feature some inventive projections, woven nature and evoking melodies with the work of Kathy Hinde & Ulf Pedersen from the acclaimed ‘For the Birds’ Brighton Festival 2017, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Creative Waves, Figments Arts, Audio Active, Rainbow Theatre, Peas & Needles and many more.

Creative Collaborations with Creative Waves
26 September – 01 October 2023 // 10.00 – 17.00 // Free

Creative Collaborations is an opportunity for five young adults to exhibit their work alongside Creative Waves’ artists Nadia Chalk and Vanessa Breen.

The exhibiting artists will share their skills by  hosting creative workshops and bouncing new ideas for creative projects in the gallery. The exhibiting artists are Kira MacDonald, Vanessa Breen, Emma Farquhar, Nadia Chalk, Abby Worsdell, Bella Chalk and Sam Harper Holding. More details on the workshops soon…
