Sussex Partnership NHS Trust: Through Our Eyes
11 – 13 October // 10.00 – 17.00 // Free entry
The Make Your Mark, Arts and Health programme teamed photographer Dougie Evans with learning disabled adults to explore their perception of themselves. After this celebratory exhibition the work will be installed in NHS Trust buildings to raise awareness.
Curious Threads; Moving On
15 – 26 October // 10.00 – 17.00 // closed Sundays and Mondays
Since forming in 2015 this local group of textile artists has gone from strength to strength. Many exhibit nationally and have recognisable styles and preferred approaches but in their monthly sessions in Sussex they take a more collaborative approach. Mixing contemporary embroidery, dying and quilting using fabric, paper and other media, you will find something that is your cup of tea.
Don’t miss the ‘meet the artists’ event all day on Friday 18 October when you can find out more about how they create their work.
Kate Taylor: Practical Magic
29 October – 2 November // 10.00 – 17.00 // Free entry
A collaboration between printmaker and digital creative Mat Denney, and empowerment coach Kate Taylor, Practical Magic is a cool way to find inspiration and to unlock your creative power. With Mat’s stunning images on your wall and a deck of cards in your hand to guide you, you’ll be ready to take on the world!
Kathryn Best & Ella Wenzel
29 October – 2 November // 10.00 – 17.00 // Free entry
Final year degree students Ella and Kathryn have different perspectives on the world around them. Kathryn overlays the curves of contour lines on maps with the curves of the landscape and embeds them in fields of colour. Ella looks at the world at a microscopic level, drilling down to find patterns that conceal their origins.
